Understanding The Structure of Organic OS
It’s important for you to grasp how this tool works. If you do, you’ll be able to easily navigate the Organic OS and make updates that maximize leverage.
Here is the Flow of the Template:

How Organic OS is Organized
This tool is huge! There are more than 30 templates inside, but it is well organized so that you won’t feel overwhelmed.
The most important thing to understand is that all the databases from all the templates are in one place, so that you won’t delete something important by mistake. All the rest of the pages contain only different views of these main databases.
Understand The Difference Between a Database & Page.
A lot of times it can be confusing, so this is why we decided to centralize every database under the Databasess page. This means, that no page, besides the “Databases” page contains actual data.
Every page only has different linked views of databases, but if you delete any of these, the actual information remains intact under “Databases.”

Here are all the databases that Organic OS contains:
As you can see, Organic OS is organized in a way to be as simple as possible. It only has 7 pages. Here is a list of these pages, and what you can do with these:
- Setup - Here you can do your Life & Template Setup (and you can delete it after)
- Dashboard - Here is your main page, that you should edit and customize so that it fits your need
- Projects - This should be your Workplace. Set it up for work.
- Areas - Here you have all the different mini-templates, organized in 8 main areas.
- Health, Career, Finance, Growth, Love, Social, Fun, Home
- Resources - This page is set up for all your documents and notes.
- Archive - Everything that you’ve finished with, should be found here.
- Customize - Here you can find all the tools for you to make the templates yours.
- Widgets - You have a set of widgets, that are basically different views from different databases that you can use to add to any page you want.
- Buttons - A set of buttons programmed to do different actions. You can copy these buttons to any page you want.
- Dashboard Sections - These are pre-built sections that you can use for any page in Organic OS. This will help you create a larger, more customized pages with navigation links (so that you don’t need to leave your page).

Getting Started With Organic OS
We recommend that you start with Life Setup.
While it is not required, you can use the template without it, it is a great way to find clarity in your life and have a better outlook on what you should focus on.
Check the Template Setup
What you will need for sure is the basics of the template, like Tasks, Projects, Resources. You need to check these databases and do the necessary changes so that it makes sense for you.
If you are Advanced in Notion
If you are an Advanced or Experienced user, you will be able to navigate and decide it for yourself what to do and what to use, so we don’t really want to tell you what you should or could do. Feel free to look around and tweak the template as you please.
If you are a Notion Beginner
In case that you are a beginner, this tool may seem a little overwhelming at first. BUT DON’T FREAK OUT, it’s easy once you get the hang of it. As you start using Notion day to day, you will start to understand and you will appreciate everything that you’ve been provided here. If you are a beginner, please still do the template & life setup.
